Miscreants Steal Valued Persian Cat in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Miscreants have made off with a punch-faced Persian cat, a breed of Persian cat highly regarded and priced among cat aficionados in Koramangala’s 8th block.

The cat which is valued at Rs 15,000, belonged to Ashwini Shankar Poojary, a bank employee residing near Union Bank in the area.

The perpetrators, two helmet-clad individuals came on a moped, infiltrated the compound of Ashwini’s residence and executed the catnapping with swift precision. Ashwini lodged a complaint with the Koramangala police, and also provided CCTV footage to support her case. She said that her brothers had gifted this feline to her.

The stolen Persian cat, known for its distinctive features and opulent fur, holds a significant market demand, fetching varying prices based on lineage, age, and breeder reputation. This incident sheds light on the security challenges faced by owners of rare and sought-after pet breeds, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance in safeguarding prized possessions against pet theft.
